About psychotherapy and counselling

Psychotherapy provides a regular safe place to talk about anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable for you.  Trying to work though these feelings or stressful life events such as relationship problems, bereavement, depression or illness can be very difficult. Research shows that psychotherapy and counselling can help us through these difficulties and find a way forward.

My approach is collaborative and interactive so as well as listening without judgement I prompt and ask questions with the aim of exploring, understanding and coming to terms with what you’re going through.  Clients report that this kind of understanding deepens their self-awareness and acceptance of how they relate to others and the world around them. This contributes to a rediscovery of their values and what’s meaningful to them, opening up new perspectives, possibilities and choices.
